Morning. Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Air Port. Meet there with us and transfer to Ghion Hotel for check in and then; drive to the Entoto Mountain for a panoramic view of Addis, Entoto Museum and the old palace of MenelikII (at Entoto Mountain), the National Museum, where one can see different archaeological findings, trinity Museum, Mausoleum of emperor MenelikII and finally Merkato – the largest open market in Africa. Overnight – at Ghion Hotel (4*) – Addis
After breakfast; fly from Addis to Bahir Dar and drive to the small town of Tiss Abay (32km rough road) to visit the impressive Blue Nile Falls, locally known as Tis Issat means in Amharic: 'Smoke of Fire'. Much of the water is diverted for Hydro electric Generation plant but it is still worth visiting for remaining waterfalls, trekking around and to see a Portuguese Bridge (17Century) and the country side. The area around the waterfall is amazingly fertile and the Amhara people who live here farm wheat, sorghum and Teff (from which Injera, the national bread, is made). After the fall, return to Bahir Dar & make city tour of Bahir Dar which includes: market where you can find the pottery, traditional hand-made woven clothes, and Woito Basket market. Afternoon; take a chartered boat trip on Lake Tana to visit monasteries (constructed during 14 up to 18 century). You will visit only the most accessible and representative of the monasteries on the lake, still serving their original function: Ura Kidane Mehret, and Azwa Maryam (in Zeghe Peninsula), Kibran Church (prohibited for women) & Entos Eyesus. Evening, visit the hill of Bezawit (roughly 5km after Gojjam – Gondar border Bridge). At this point, you are visit the Palace of Emperor Haile SelassieI( entering is prohibited), the source of the Blue Nile- leaving Lake Tana and panoramic view of Bahir Dar and the full sunset. Overnight – at current best hotel – Bahir Dar
After breakfast; drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar. Visit all sites in the town of Gondar. After lunch; drive to the Semien Mountains national Park. On the way; visit the Felasha/Jews village. Overnight – at Semien Lodge/tented camp – Semien N. Park The Park in Brief: It has been recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1978 by UNESCO. In the mountains; three animals, unique to Ethiopia are found: the Walia Ibex, the Semien Jackal, and the Gelada baboon. These baboons will be easily seen in groups in many areas of the Semiens. They are also known as the 'the bleeding heart baboon' for they are red on their chest. At Chennek Camping site, Walia Ibexes are being seen in groups. To sum up; the landscape of the area is immensely beautiful and absolutely worthy to be visited by any visitor accessed to Gondar.
After breakfast; explore the park and drive to Axum. Explore the Stele Park and church of Saint Marry. Overnight –hotel –Axum
After breakfast; fly from Axum to Lalibela. Afternoon; visit the first group of the Rock Hewn Churches. Overnight – at current best hotel – Lalibela
Early morning; Hike to Asheten Mariam Mountain Church (optional) .After lunch and a short siesta, visit Second groups, and Nakuto Làabe. Overnight – at former hotel - Lalibela
After breakfast; fly from Lalibela to Addis and the drive to Awash National park (225km modern asphalt road). Lunch at Dreamland Hotel – Debrezeith, 47km from Addis. After lunch; proceed to Awash Park and stopover at Lake Beseka (Nearby the park) for several birdlife. Game view after having entrance tickets at the head office of the Awash National Park. Overnight – at current best lodge /hotel – Awash Park/ town of Awash Sebat.
Full day visit. Take an early morning game drive and then return to the lodge/hotel for breakfast. Then drive with picnic lunch into the park to visit the Filwoha Hot Springs, where guests can take a hot bath. Then proceed to the Fentale crater, which still shows signs of activity with smocking steam vents. Overnight – at best local hotel (Genet Hotel) – Awash Sebat. Or Lodge in the Park.
After Breakfast; we leave Awash for Dinsho. Overnight – lodge at the park’s head office - Dinsho
Explore the Gaysay mountain Nyala reserve area and drive to Goba. Overnight-Goba
Full day excursion to Sofomar natural cave. Overnight-Goba
Full day excursion to Senateti Plateaux for Abyssinian Wolf and mountain landscape. Overnight-Goba
Lake Langano - is a fresh breath taking atmosphere. The lake with its beautiful white sand beach is bilharzias and crocodile free. After check – in at your hotel; start swimming, trekking along the shores, & bird watching in the forests along the shores. After breakfast; drive from Goba to Langano. Check- in at your hotel and enjoy swimming or other activities at Lake Langano. Afternoon; discover the rift valley lakes of Abijata & Shalla, the Ostrich Farm, aquatic birds like the Pink Flamingos, Dukes, Gosse, and many others. Overnight – at Savannah Lodge (the finest lodge in Langano) – Langano Drive for recreational resort of Langano. Overnight – Lodge or hotel – Langano
