Program: The Blue Nile Falls, Monateries on Lake Tana & Langano Code: ATE1029 Transportation: Air & Land Duration: 5 nights (6 days) Tour starts: Addis Ababa Tour ends: Addis Ababa Day1: Arrive Addis Ababa Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Air Port and meet with us here s and transfer to your hotel (city tour if arrived in the morning). Overnight – at 4* hotel – Addis (note that you can be provided from 3* up to luxury hotels in Addis Ababa) Day2: Monasteries on Lake Tana Morning; fly from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar. Morning, take a boat trip – arranged for your honeymoon on Lake Tana to visit monasteries and enjoy on the very historical Take Tana. You will visit only the most accessible and representative of the monasteries on the lake, still serving their original function: Ura Kidane Mehret, and Azwa Maryam (in Zeghie Peninsula), Kibran Church (prohibited for women) & Entos Eyesus. Late After ; drive to the Bezawit hill top(7km from your Lodge) for the palace of Emperor Haile SelassieI (photographing & entering is not allowed), panoramic view of Bahir Dar, the Source of the Blue Nile, leaving its source of Lake Tana and for a fabulous sunset – appropriate time to color the enjoyable the honeymoon. Overnight – at Kuriftu Resort & Spa Lodge – Bahir Dar Day3: The Blue Nile Waterfalls Morning; enjoy & relax with the best view of Lake Tana (in your room) where pelicans and boats of papyrus are easily seen. Afternoon; drive to the small town of Tiss Abay(32km rough road) to visit the impressive Blue Nile Falls, locally known as Tiss Issat or 'Smoke of Fire'. The waterfalls sprinkle up to a kilometer away. Today; much of the water is diverted for Hydroelectric Generation plant but it is worth visiting for the walk around, a Portuguese made bridge (17Century), some birds and the evergreen country side. The area around the waterfall is amazingly fertile and the Amhara people who live here farm wheat, sorghum and Teff (from which Injera, the national bread, is made). After the fall, return to Bahir Dar & make city tour of Bahir Dar: the market where you can find the pottery, traditional hand-made woven clothes, and Woito Basket market. Day4: Langano Morning; fly from Bahir Dar to Addis and drive to Langano. Check- in at your lodge and enjoy with swimming or other activities at Lake Langano. Overnight – at Savannah Lodge (the finest lodge in Langano) – Langano Day5: Langano Morning; horse riding, sport activities like Volleyball around Lake Langano, boat trip. Afternoon; explore the rift valley lakes of Abijata - Shalla, the Ostrich Farm, aquatic birds like the Pink Flamingos, Dukes, Gosse, and the hot springs. Overnight – at Savannah Lodge (the finest lodge in Langano) – Langano Day6: Addis & Departure Drive back Addis Ababa. Lunch at Dreamland Hotel – Debre Zeith and proceed to Addis. In one of a traditional restaurants of Addis Ababa; Farewell dinner with folkloric dancers (various Ethnic groups of Ethiopia) and traditional songs, accompanied with several nation and nationalities dishes and with traditional coffee ceremony on your last day trip. In the evening; transfer to Addis Ababa Bole international airport for departure. N.B.
